The Battle in Japan: Okinawa
The Battle of Okinawa started in April of 1945. The Battle of Okinawa was one of the major battles during Worl War II,this battle was very bloodly. This battle was on an island, and the island was called Okinawa, it was about 60 miles long, and 2 to 18 miles wide. This battle was more in the south of the island. The American lost 7,373 men were killed and about 32,056 were wounded on the island. Americans lost 36 ships, 368 ships were damaged, and 763 aircrafts were destroyed in that battlee. At sea the americans lost 5,000 peoples and 4,600 were wounded. The Japanese lost about 107,000 killed and 7,400 were prisoners, they had 16 ships that were sunken by the U.S., and they lost 4,000 aircarts. It was the frist invation of this island. The Batttle ended in July 2nd 1945.
The Battle in Europe: Normandy
The Battle of Normandy started in the summer of 1944, This is also called D-Day, this war started on June 6, 1944 and ended on june 30th that same year. There were 12 Allied nations provided fightning units that participated in the war or invasion, they were Australlia,Canda,Belgium,France,Czechoslovakia, The Neitherlands,Norway,Poland,the United Kingdom,and the United States. The allie forces crossed the River Seine on August 19. The Allies had 4,000 small landing crafts, and 11,000 more aircrafts. This war was one of the main wars in the European Thearter.
